LUMENARI | Desk Lamp Launch Budget
Prompt
Create a product launch budget workbook for a fictional desk lamp brand: 24 line items covering activities, channels and materials, with plan vs. actual comparison, variance formulas, a channel summary, overspend alerts, budget charts and adjustment recommendations. All amounts are simulated data. Write all content, headings, labels, sheet names and file names in English.
Result
desk-lamp-launch-budget.xlsx — a simulated launch budget for the fictional desk lamp brand Lumenari, all content in English.
8 sheets
- Overview – purpose, key figures, sheet index, how to use, disclaimer.
- Assumptions – currency, period, alert thresholds (10% alert / 25% critical), contingency 5%, adjustment rules, 5% scenario sensitivity, plus the channel / phase / owner lists behind the drop-downs. Yellow cells are the only editable inputs.
- Line Items – the 24 items (activity, channel, material/type, owner, phase, planned vs actual, variance $, variance %, status, alert level, notes); SUMIFS-fed totals and conditional formatting.
- Channel Summary – 8 channels × planned, actual, variance, shares, over-budget counts, alert level (COUNTIF/SUMIF formulas).
- Overspend Alerts – 16 threshold-driven indicators, top-5 overspend items (LARGE/INDEX/MATCH) and an alert register with an immediate action per channel.
- Adjustments – recommended action per channel with a rule-driven adjustment amount, revised plan, remaining gap and priority.
- Dashboard – KPI tiles, three forecast scenarios, launch-phase summary and 4 charts (planned vs actual by channel, variance by channel, actual spend mix, planned vs actual by phase).
- Checks – 26 live reconciliation checks, all PASS.
Headline figures (simulated): planned $454,000 · actual $500,500 · net variance +$46,500 (+10.2%) · 14 items over plan, 13 at or above the 10% alert threshold (4 critical) · overspend $60,200 against underspend $13,700 · contingency reserve $22,700 · recommended plan adjustments $7,850, leaving a $38,650 gap that needs scope reduction or an approved budget increase. Largest overrun: L-09 Sponsored creator content (+$11,600).
Verification: all 466 formulas are stored with cached results, so values show on first open and in previews; no formula-error tokens; no external links. The channel, alert, adjustment, scenario and phase figures were recomputed independently from the raw line-item costs and matched exactly.
Limit: no spreadsheet renderer is installed in this environment, so instead of a rendered visual pass I ran a deterministic column-width/wrap audit across all 8 sheets (0 clipping or overlap issues). Pixel-level rendering is the one check I could not perform.
