How Paper Kite Studio writes for clients, collaborators and the public

This guide sets the standard for every word Paper Kite Studio publishes or sends: website and project pages, proposals and decks, client email, social posts, and the briefs and reports we hand over. It is a working reference, not a manifesto. Before anything leaves the studio, a…
The guide has one owner, the Brand & Content Team, and one test: a reader should finish our writing knowing what we do, what happens next and what we need from them.
Who this applies to. Partners, producers, designers, writers, developers, interns and freelancers writing anything a client or the public will read — first drafts as much as final copy.
We write for four readers. Most studio writing is read by more than one; decide which is primary before drafting, and let that choice settle later questions about length and detail.
Readers outside this list — procurement, legal, accessibility auditors — get the same voice with less colour and more structure. When a document serves two readers, write for the one who decides and put the detail the other needs in a closing note.
Here is the same brand voice guide as an editable A4 Word document, all in English and carrying the identical content to the PDF.
How it is built: a single-column A4 layout (210 × 297 mm, 19 mm side margins), Arial throughout for clean editing, the same eight numbered sections plus the Document control block, the same tables (contents strip, scope, reader profiles, recommended vs avoided wording, glossary, acceptance criteria, document control), the callout boxes for the scope note, the principles-conflict note, the retired-words warning and the maintenance note, and the same three page breaks so the four-page structure is fixed. The running header (studio name plus the current section) and the "Page X of Y" footer use Word fields, so they update as you edit.
One verification limit worth stating: this environment has no Word or LibreOffice renderer, so I confirmed the four-page structure from the explicit page breaks and checked each page's fill from font metrics (roughly 85%, 84%, 74% and 72% of the text area), not from a Word render. Expect minor reflow if you change font sizes or margins.
